Terms of service
Last updated: 7 September 2026.
These terms govern your use of Pekkish. By signing up or placing an order through a Pekkish-powered storefront, you agree to them. They apply to operators (businesses using Pekkish to take orders) and customers (people placing orders).
1. What Pekkish is
Pekkish is a service operated by One Tandem Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17229064), trading as Pekkish ("we", "us"). It is a technical service that lets food businesses (operators) take online orders. We provide the storefront, ordering flow, payment integration, notifications, and admin tools. We are not the seller of any food or drink — every order is a contract directly between the customer and the operator.
2. Operator terms
2.1 Eligibility
You must be a registered business or sole trader operating legally in the United Kingdom. You're responsible for ensuring your menu, prices, and operations comply with all applicable laws — food safety, allergens (Natasha's Law), VAT, consumer rights, and so on.
2.2 Payments and fees
You connect your own Stripe account via Stripe Connect. Customer payments are deposited into your Stripe account directly. Pekkish takes:
- A monthly subscription fee (£0 Free, £19 Pro) charged at the end of each month
- A platform fee on each order — 3.5% on Free, 2.5% on Pro — billed at month end via Stripe
The platform fee is calculated on net GMV — your gross sales less any refunds you issue in the same period. If refunds in a period exceed sales, the fee is floored at £0; we don't pay you back, but we don't bill you either.
Stripe's own processing fees are charged separately by Stripe to your account.
2.3 Beta period
Pekkish is in public beta until 31 December 2026. Until then we charge no subscription fee and no platform fee. Every shop that joins during the beta keeps that free period, with full Pro access, for six months after it closes — until 30 June 2027. We email you 30 days and again 7 days before your free period ends. When it ends, the fees in 2.2 apply to the plan you have chosen; if you have not chosen a paid plan, you are on the Free plan. We never move you onto a paid plan without you choosing it.
2.4 Payment details on the Free plan
The Free plan has no subscription fee, but the platform fee is billed monthly, so we need a payment card on file. You can trade for your first billing period without one. Towards the end of that period we ask you to add a card; if none has been added by the end of a grace period we tell you about, your storefront is paused until one is. Platform fees only start from the day your card is added.
2.5 Stripe
Payments run on Stripe. By connecting a Stripe account you agree to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Services Agreement, and you authorise Pekkish to create payment sessions on your Stripe account for your customers' orders. You are the merchant of record for every order: customer payments settle to your Stripe account, Stripe's processing fees are yours, and refunds, disputes and chargebacks are handled on your Stripe account and are your responsibility. Please issue refunds from Pekkish rather than from the Stripe dashboard, so your platform fees are adjusted for them.
2.6 Credits, referrals and rewards
- Customer referral credit. You choose whether to run a referral programme and how much credit to offer; it is off until you turn it on. Credit a customer earns is redeemed against what they pay you, so it is your cost, not ours.
- Shop nominations. A customer who nominated your shop before you joined receives £5 of credit to spend with you once you go live, capped at ten nominators per shop. Pekkish funds this credit: it reduces what the customer pays you at checkout, we keep a ledger of what has been redeemed at your shop, and we settle it with you. Until platform fees start, settlement is by arrangement rather than automatic.
- Vouchers you issue are your own promotions, funded by you.
- Referring another shop. If a shop you refer takes its first order within six months of signing up, you each receive 3 months free of Pro subscription fees. Free months apply to subscription fees only (the platform fee still applies), have no cash value and cannot be transferred. We may also grant free months at our discretion, for example in return for feedback.
2.7 Your obligations
- Fulfil orders accurately and on time, or refund the customer
- Provide accurate allergen information for every menu item
- Keep your account credentials secure
- Not use Pekkish to sell anything illegal, unsafe, or in breach of consumer law
- Not sell age-restricted goods (alcohol, tobacco, knives and the like) through Pekkish: there is no age check on a storefront
- Comply with your obligations as a data controller for customer data you receive through Pekkish
2.8 Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms, fail to pay, or use Pekkish in a way that risks harm to customers or the platform. You can close your account at any time from your billing settings; outstanding fees remain payable.
3. Customer terms
3.1 Your order is with the operator
When you place an order on a Pekkish-powered storefront, you're entering a contract with that operator — not with Pekkish. The operator is responsible for fulfilling your order, handling allergens, processing refunds, and resolving disputes.
3.2 Payment
Payments are processed by Stripe and go directly to the operator. Pekkish does not hold customer funds. Refunds, when applicable, are processed by the operator through Stripe.
3.3 Account use
You agree to provide accurate information, keep your login secure, and not use the platform for fraud or abuse.
3.4 Cancelling an order
Food ordered through Pekkish is perishable and made for a specific collection or delivery time, so the 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 does not apply (regulation 28). Once you have placed an order, only the shop can cancel it: contact the shop directly and it will decide whether to cancel and refund. This does not affect your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 against the shop if what you receive is not as described or not of satisfactory quality.
3.5 Allergens
Shops record the allergens in each item and the storefront shows what they have recorded, but recipes, suppliers and kitchens change. If you have an allergy or intolerance, tell the shop directly before you order, every time. The allergen information on a storefront is the shop's, not ours, and we cannot verify it.
3.6 Credit
Referral and nomination credit is applied automatically at checkout against orders at the shop that issued it. It has no cash value, cannot be transferred or exchanged, and is lost if your account is closed.
3.7 Prices
The prices shown on a storefront are the prices you pay, including any VAT. The shop sets them.
4. Service availability
We aim to keep Pekkish running reliably but don't offer a formal service-level agreement at this stage. The service is provided "as is" to operators. We'll communicate about planned maintenance and significant outages where we can. If you are a consumer, nothing in this section or in section 6 limits your statutory rights.
5. Intellectual property
The Pekkish brand, software, and platform belong to us. Operators retain ownership of their own menu content, branding, logos, and customer data. By uploading content to Pekkish, you grant us a licence to host and display it as needed to run the service.
6. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that can't be limited under English law.
Subject to that, our total liability to an operator in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you've paid to Pekkish in that period (or £100, whichever is greater). We're not liable to operators for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or third-party claims. If you are a consumer, this cap does not apply to you and nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Pekkish is not liable for the quality, safety, or fitness of any food or drink ordered through the platform — that's a matter between the customer and the operator.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified to operators by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that constitutes acceptance.
8. Complaints
If something has gone wrong with an order, contact the shop first: your contract is with them and they can fix, refund or replace. If the shop does not put it right, or your complaint is about Pekkish itself, email [email protected] with the order reference. We acknowledge complaints within one working day and aim to resolve them within ten. If you are a consumer and we cannot resolve a dispute, you may be able to use an alternative dispute resolution provider; we will tell you which, if any, applies at the time.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes that can't be resolved between us are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
